Repair An Existing Drip System

While your Raindrip system is durable enough to last over 15 years with daily use, there may come a time when you have to make a repair to the system.

Fortunately, repairs are a simple undertaking. The most common two that occur in drip watering are as follows:

  1. Repairing a damaged supply tube
    repair

  2. Replacing a damaged sprinkler stake

To repair a damaged supply tube:

You’ll need the following:

  • A connector/coupling, for example R310CT(B). Be sure to select a fitting size that matches the damaged hose.
  • A sharp cutting device, for example 63100UB.

To make the repair:

  1. Make a clean cut on the hose end using your sharp cutting device, cutting the tube at an angle to make it easier to insert.
  2. Push the hose into the open end of the connector to form a tight seal.
  3. Repeat with the other hose to form a continuous line.

To extend the hose or change the direction of the hose, use a different fitting, such as “T” or cross.

To replace a damaged sprinkler stake:

You’ll need the following:

replace
  • A 12” Rigid Riser with ¼” Barbed Adaptor, for example 3892005B.
  • A Sprayer, for example P1075UB, P1050UB, P1025UB, or any barbed sprayer that fits the needs of your system.

To make the replacement:

  1. Simply remove the broken riser and sprinkler.
  2. Insert the new riser into the stake.
  3. Insert the sprinkler into the top of the riser.
